Avenue of the Giants : The Drive

I wish you could see my smile! Did I say that already? Well I am saying it again. Today was the kind of day and drive where in life you could have as good a day/drive but not better. We drove and hiked our way though the Avenue of the Giants. Redwoods so tall your eyes squinted in the filtered through sunlight trying to see how high they reach to the sky. We took our time and spent about three hours. We walked trails dense with fallen trees the size of a football field and one as big as a 30 story building weighting a million pounds. How small each of us stood next to these ancient monuments to nature. I could use a hundred adjectives describing their majesty and beauty and still fall short. You need to be overwhelmed by experiencing them first hand to truly grasp their beauty.
