Getting up way to early and hoping somewhere on Tomalas Bay I can get a large coffee. I am not hopeful as I get in the car and drive to the small town area where I noticed the Blackbird cafe doing a morning business. They have free wi-fi as well so i get to blog and read the papers.
After my large double espresso, non fat latte. I picked Bill up some muffins and juice for when he wakes up. I figure I would let him sleep until 11 am since check out is at 12.
I had a few hours to kill....
I decided to do a little exploring so i took a ride way out the point of the bay toward the Point Reyes Lighthouse. There are 330 steps down to the lighthouse or so I was told. My drive down Tomalas Bay took me through farmers, cattle ranches and desolate spaces of dry land. The landscape was hilly and coastal. As my drive took me higher in elevation a fog started to roll in. Normally, that would be a beautiful site as I love the fog bit it became so dense I could not see in front of me. At one point, I pulled off at one of the lookouts which happen to be a sea lion lookout. I could see very little of the ocean as the fog was dense. I pushed forward and was rewarded but unnerved by seeing a Buck and does' crazing along the road. My concern was that between their natural color and with the fog I would not be able to see them crossing the road.
I became extra cautious. At one point, I stopped to take a photo. I hope it came out.
I reach Point Reyes Lighthouse but it was closed. I could not even see the lighthouse from my vantage point above. That's traveling sometimes you are disappointed with the individual moments but never with the big picture.

What I was suppose to see at Point Reyes Lighthouse
What I ended up seeing...oh well, that's the travel game.
